News and Updates

Another successful year out hunting with the NV Outdoorsmen in Wheelchairs. There were two hunters this year: Clint from Utah and Janice from Fallon, NV. It was such a privilege to be able to help out this year after being a hunter last year. I personally got to take Janice out for her Northern Nevada Pronghorn Antelope. Janice has to be one of the strongest people I know...not only is she wheelchair bound, but she showed up with a broken shoulder. This did not make the hunt any easier at all. We had Tim setup a shooting mechanism with a phone scope for her out of an action Trackchair. It was a hard learning curve. After battling the heat, equipment, and animals Janice finally put one down on our third stalk. I want to congratulate both hunters on a job well done! It was an honor meeting and hanging out with both of you. I can't wait for this hunt to roll around again next year!!!

It has been very good and humbling visiting with Michael the past few days. I'm extremely honored and thankful to be in a position to help others. More than that, it's about having a sense of community and a support network. I'm sure I overwhelmed Michael and his family with information. They soaked it all up and seem eager to begin the next chapter of their lives. We wish you all the luck moving forward as you go to Santa Clara for rehab. Keep us updated on your progress and let us know what else we can help you with.

I just donated this really nice wheelchair (Quickie Q7) to Care Chest of Sierra Nevada. They helped me out with free medical supplies when I first got injured. I'm extremely happy and thankful to be able to give back and #payitforward ... I hope this chair finds a great home and really helps someone out!!!

Livin' Life on Wheels was proud to co-sponsor a Dance Wheels workshop in Reno, NV.  It was held at the Evelyn Mount NorthEast Community Center. The focus was on couples ballroom dance with one partner in a chair. We had a great turnout and even better time!
